Founder of Pocketbook of Nannies
The Vision Most people see a nanny as a logistical solution. I see a nanny as a child’s most influential environmental input.
With a background in Psychology (MSc) and over a decade of experience within the private nursery sector, I founded Pocketbook of Nannies to bridge the gap between clinical research and the reality of the private home. My mission is to move beyond "childcare" and toward Neurodevelopmental Alignment.
My love for child psychology began in 2017 when I started my Psychology degree alongside after-school nannying. My interests in child psychology grew and i become fascinated by clinical studies of how children think, feel, and grow. I took a particular interest in the "First 1,000 Days", a period of unparalleled brain plasticity where every interaction literally shapes the architecture of the developing mind within the first 1000 days of a child’s life.
However, I through my work as a nanny I noticed a recurring "Philosophical Fracture" in the domestic staffing industry: agencies were matching families with nannies based on CVs and postcodes, completely ignoring the psychological compatibility required for a child to truly thrive. I knew there was a more precise, scientifically-backed way to build a household team.
The Pocketbook Philosophy I don’t just recruit; I curate. Using my MSc-level training, I evaluate candidates through the lens of Attachment Theory, Pedagogical Scaffolding, and Nervous System Regulation. I believe that for a child to reach their full potential, the adults in their life must be in total "Psychological Synchrony." Whether I am facilitating a Signature Alignment Session or vetting a candidate’s Self-Regulatory Capacity, my goal is to ensure your home is an environment of "calm-alertness"—the optimal state for your child's cognitive and emotional growth.
Beyond the Science:I am more than a psychologist; I am a mother and a professional who has spent years "on the ground" as a nanny in the private household sector. I understand the vulnerability of inviting someone into your private life. I combine clinical rigour with lived empathy to ensure that every "Pocketbook" match isn’t just a placement, it’s a partnership in your child’s future.
